I Want My Mommy!
I went out running errands today and felt like cussing out every person who scolded, chided, reprimanded or advised me about my kids. They do it ALL THE TIME here in Cleveland. I'm sick of it.
I couldn't even finish getting them out of the car at Home Depot when an older man said, "You know, you really should keep your son from running off like that. There's cars that could hurt him." Finn was feet away from me and sometimes has a tendency to get ahead of me. But, please, mister, come on! I ignored him and didn't give him the satisfaction of a response.
It's as if people here have never had kids. It's amazing that this place continues to propogate, because most people here have no respect for kids or people with kids. Maybe that's why this is the armpit of the nation!
Then the returns clerk at Home Depot kept bugging me about Lucy getting hurt when Lucy was sitting on a cart. I was thinking, "Do you want me to sign the return slip or hold my daughter who is perfectly fine?" Since when do teenage girls know more about kids' safety than the kids' own mom?
All I can say is I'm tuckered out. Chasing F + L around all morning in stores and getting hassled by the "locals" is enough for this gal to call it a day.
I just can't wait for my mom to get here. At least she'll have some sympathy for me!

Nothing annoys me more. Hang in there!
Amen. She'll be there soon!
Sarah, that chart is awesome!!!!! Love it. Btw Chinese are the same about giving the advice. So annoying. You're a great mom. Cute kids.
You're a terrific mom. I think you did the right thing by ignoring the guy. And I wanted to laugh out loud when you called Cleveland the armpit of the nation because it is totally true. I was at Aldi's yesterday and some guy couldn't believe that I had three kids. He just looked at me was with huge eyes asked, "Are ALL of them yours?" Then a lady outside looked like she was going to have a heart attack when she saw me pulling Emma out of the car. "You have another one?!?" Yeah, see, I did a buy two get one free deal.
i love having my mom around too! they make all the difference. as for the locals and their advice, i'm with you.. hard to keep from cussing them out. here's hoping you have that baby soon!
The nerve of people! Why don't they try and help at least rather than just chastize you. I hear that from a lot of moms - about Clevelanders being so nosey with your children. Your a great mom - hang in there :)
Ha Ha i'm laughing, but totally feel your frusteration!! EVER TIME i go to any store someone is saying " oh your son is going to fall out of that cart" I feel like saying well IF he does maybe he wont stand up in it anymore, otherwise he's fine. I think its so funny cause its every where you go and every time you go anywhere!!!!!! One day i'm going to just let loose, probably while i'm pregnant cause my hormones are already out of control, so watch out for the prego brittany, i'm going to snap sometime!!! anyway I feel for ya cause i know just what you mean!!
Ya! Someone with more time and patients than me should wright a rant blog about Clevelanites and their butting in your business and such. Endless stories! Maybe it's the "it takes a village to raise a child" stuff.
Good luck with the birth!!!
