Holding Tight
This drawing represents the single thing Travis has to do before finals week: study. Therefore, I have taken on a double portion of the parenting around here. And, I'm already sick of it. And, what do I do to bide my time? I bake. I've got four mini loaves of "The World's Best Banana Bread" baking in the oven (I kind of went against my internal mooring to never make anything that makes a claim for itself). And, I have a loaf of buttermilk whole wheat bread rising too. (I had some buttermilk and bananas that needed to be used pronto).
Some more questions I have for you readers:
1. What does a gal do if she's renting but still has an itch to "work on" her house?
2. Where is the best place to get a comfortable, durable t-shirt to sleep in?
3. Nuts or no-nuts in your banana bread?
4. Do bake sales do well at yard sales (with some cute kids to staff it)?

I feel your pain of having the nitch, but stuck renting. I just re-arrange, change up my wall hangings, plant flower pots for the porch and balcany, and buy fresh flowers. Good luck.

1. You can help me work on my house! 2. At Target: Look for Men's Hanes cotton Vnecks with no tags. Get small and they work great not to mention they come in a pack of 5 for like $7 3. nuts 4. I'm sure your cute kids could sell anything :)

1. Do a cheap spring makeover. Rachel and I are renting, and every season we sew new pillow covers for the couch, frame new pictures, and change the color scheme. Flowers help. Painting furniture. You don't necessarily have to make changes to the room--just what's in it, in my opinion.

2. Target or Gap.

3. I prefer no nuts. It gets in the way of the softness of the bread. Or, nuts on top would be a great alternative.

4. Yes! Especially if packaged cutely. And your kids are the most adorable.

1. plant a vegetable garden. Works wonders for the itch... and who doesn't like fresh veg.

2. I like the idea of hanes men shirts. I think I'll go get some myself.

3. usually no nuts. chocolate chips.

4. Bake sales usually do really well. It's amazing, but people will buy like 3 cookies for a dollar, etc. Hike up the prices! :)

1. We're two opposite friends, friend opposites, whichever. I don't have this itch and I wish you were here to itch out on my apartment.
2. Old Navy
3. No nuts
4. We did a garage sale for my mom's stuff at c. henry's. Rachel made cinamon rolls that looked DANG good and only 2 people bought one. When we had a guy asking to put $.50 down to hold a TV, we understood why wanting $1.00 per cinnamon roll was asking a little too much out of our garage sale friends.
