This back entryway closet is driving me nuts! There are always shoes in the way when I walk in the door or go into the basement. Does anyone have a solution to the shoe clutter problem? I'm trying to think of something that won't get in the way, and yet will allow me to easily contain the shoes.

We have a shoe basket, at every outside door, you just find the right size and style that works for you and throw them all in. If you where lots of different shoes it's a good idea to clean it out about once a week.
I have a over-the-door pocket shoe organizer hanging on the side of the door facing the garage. So (in theory) the shoes shouldn't even come in the house. They take them off and put them in their pockets. This is the door into our kitchen. There is at least a spot for every pair, even if they aren't always deposited there by their owners.

sorry for the long link. I'm using one of them for shoes by our front door....the others are housing various things in my office and kitchen. they come in white too....
